This week, it’s the shrewd horror spectacle M3GAN and equally gnarly 2019 Child’s Play remake. Related news It’s hard to believe the angelic doll with the soul of a stone-cold killer has been plaguing our nightmares for almost three decades, but it’s true—Chucky’s been around while now. Yes, after a few years off the radar, he’s back. In this teaser for Child’s Play 7, titled Cult of Chucky, we learn that deadly little redheaded doll is coming, and he’s ready for more sick jokes and blood-soaked mayhem.

Child’s Play without Don Mancini and Brad Dourif? Even as an ardent horror fan who’d like to remain open where possible with regards to contemporary reboots, I believe this one’s edging into borderline/dicey territory of being unthinkable. Child's Play (2019) | Reviews This week we wrap up our latest franchise with one of the most controversial movies we've ever covered. The Child's Play remake had longtime fans of the series up in arms as the movie and characters were ripped from series creator Don Mancini in an attempt by United Artists to cash in on the Child's Play IP. This seemed to doom the reboot from the start, as horror fans wanted little to do with s Chucky that didn't feature Mancini in a creative role, or Brad Douriff as Chucky's voice. Even casting Luke Skywalker himself as the voice of the killer doll did little to appease fans.
